Silliman University Campus

Silliman University or the campus by the sea is known for it's quality education. Silliman University is the first private school that was built in the Philippines.

Dr. Horace B. Silliman donated $10,000 to start an industrial school for Filipino boys.

Dr. Horace B. Silliman expresses to the Presbyterian Board his readiness to donate more funds to allow the expansion of the Institute. From 1905 to 1921 there is significant growth donations and land purchases.

Blynda and I are very blessed because we are given the opportunity to study in this prestigious school. We are currently taking BSEd major in English. We took Education as our course because we love to teach and we chose Silliman University becuase we heard that College Of Education here in Silliman is the Center of Excellence and we want to learn from the best school.

Silliman University has a lot of landmarks like Hibbard Hall, SU Church, Silliman Hall, Katipunan Hall.

Hibbard Hall was the old University Library. This building was constructed in the early 30's to honor Silliman University's first President, Dr. David S. Hibbard and his wife, Laura C. Hibbard.
However, it took until the early 40's for construction to be completed. Today, it still stands just as proud as the day it was dedicated.

This video is made possible through the use of the Movie Maker Application.

We were having a hard time on publishing the video and uploading it on YouTube because the Wi-Fi connection is poor. I will never forget the sleepless night that we spent in school just to publish and upload the video on YouTube. In making this project we learned that we are very blessed that we were given the opportunity to study in this school.

I would like to thank God first for guiding us while making this project. I would also like to thank Ms. Marianne Sy for letting us make this project because this project made me realized a lot of things. I would thank Jay Bayon and Reyshiel Saldo for helping us in the video making.
